For years now I've been collecting little nature finds with the intent of using them to make either jewelry or talisman type decorations to attach to some of my skull work. After all this time though, I've still not used any of them. I was thinking of possibly starting some necklaces to put up for sale, but thought I'd offer the opportunity for any potentially interested to make a request beforehand, using any of the pendants shown. And of course, if you'd like a particularly coloured bead design, or a specific type of necklace design, I'm open to all those suggestions too. To be honest, I'm new to the jewelry crafting world, but I am inspired by what I find in nature. I have also purchased a few pendants as motivation, also shown above.
First Panel (from left to right) : small gold and silver feather charms, a rhinestone golden bull skull (I'm kind of attached to this one, so I may decide not to part with it yet), a golden turtle pendant with rhinestones and turquoise stone center, a turquoise mini dreamcatcher with feather pendant and beads, 2 silver decorative hoops with copper rings, leather strap and pearl beads.
Second Panel: a Pileated Woodpecker foot grasping a quartz crystal with a purple tip (maybe amethyst? I'm not very keen with minerals) - I made this one myself, and it really stands out to me. The woodpecker was roadkill, and I salvaged and preserved some parts that I could) 5 semi glossed stones from Lake Erie - a beautiful Brachiopod with hints of green and quartz, a small tan stone riddled with small bones and other fossilized matter, a gray stone with a perfect quartz crescent moon shape in the center, a dark blue/black stone with a tip of white quartz patterning, and a beautiful piece of either quartz or feldspar (again, not good with minerals) and small flecks of pyrite and black mica.
Third Panel: a green stone with perfect cleavage/edges (it's sparkly too, despite the photo) also from Lake Erie, part of an old necklace - it's a type of ceramic stone I think with tribal patterns, 2 arrowheads carved from stone and polished (not sure what kind of stone, it's orange and metallic), a preserved small scorpion (I can switch out the silver border frame if requested)
Fourth Panel: Feathers I've collected over the years (these are only a few, just the right size for a necklace or talisman) 1) some kind of shorebird, not sure which - found along the coast in Nova Scotia, 2) a Northern Saw-whet Owl feather 3 & 4) feathers from a type of Kingfisher I found in South Africa (not sure I could part with these ) 5) a Blue Jay feather (one of many, but this one is the nicest) 6) a Baltimore Oriole feather
